Back in 2008, Safeguard Global got its start as a global payroll processing company, growing the industry with our innovative payroll solution. We continued to expand, and in 2010, we pioneered the global EOR industry.

2008

Our founding

CEO Bjorn Reynolds creates the first global centralized payroll solution when he becomes the founder of Safeguard Global.

2009

EOR solutions offered

We introduce EOR, becoming the first company to offer Employer of Record solutions on a global scale.

2010

Workday partnership

We become the first global payroll provider to establish a formal partnership with Workday.

2019

Fresh investment

Safeguard Global secures significant growth equity capital from Accel-KKR, a leading Silicon Valley investment firm.

2019

WorkFor acquisition

We acquire the Switzerland-based WorkFor Group, which specializes in employment outsourcing and payroll solutions.

2020

GEDA acquisition

We acquire German company GEDA, expanding our payroll and accountancy offerings and expertise in Europe.

2021

German expansion

We expand operations in Germany to meet the increasing demand for employer of record services in the DACH region.

2022

APAC expansion

We expand in Australia and China to help more companies in the region quickly and compliantly scale their workforces internationally.

2022

EMEA expansion

We expand operations in Spain, France, and the Netherlands to provide greater expertise and support for European countries.

Global Upside acquisition

We acquire Global Upside a global expansion technology services company.

2025

Sale of Pay division

We sell our enterprise payroll division to focus on what we do best: serving small- to medium-sized organizations.
